During the work on this project an existing ball path (SpaceRail Level 6) should be adapted and equipped with various components, like LEDs, servodrives and light barriers. Thus the expansions allow many different applications, such as light effects based on the movement of the balls on the track and velocity measurement on specific positions. Furthermore, it is possible to control the three switches which split the whole SpaceRail into the different partial tracks by using the servomotors. The system is managed by a microcontroller (PIC) that should forward the previously measured data to an Android application via WLAN and receive commands from the mobile Android device.
