CBU - Circuit Breaker Unit
Our project vision is to build up a representive circuit breaker unit branch. We want collect important experiences in high voltage facilities and contact business partner. So we decided to build up high voltage components in front of the workshop building and wire them with overhead lines. The school could use it as a demonstration object for special activities for example.
In further consequence we decided to actuate the components with a PLC control. The power supply of these high voltage components seems to be a problem. They will need 110 V DC. We decided to produce the power supply on our own. Approach to the problem we will use a transformer and a rectifier. At first it is important to calculate a whole transformer. Windings on primary and secondary side, output, current, weight and internal resistance for example. Additionally we have to calculate the expenses. Afterwards we have to rectify the outlet.
