Ziel

Objective

The main objective of the project "SSS - Saddle Safety System" is the conception and construction of a security-system for a tack room. This project is being developed on behalf of the Araber Haflinger-Hof St.Gandolf.
Unauthorized removal of saddles can be traced and an alarm can be triggered accordingly.
Furthermore the system is capable of detecting users and unlocking the corresponding saddles for the user to move them at will.
The systems login process is meant to be as fast, efficient and effortless as possible. Complex processes like the conventional username-password-pattern are to be avoided.

Solution

Every saddle is equipped with a RFID-Chip. At the entrance of the track room an antenna (Gate) is constructed. Every saddle-owner is supplied with an id-card, which is also equipped with a RFID-Chip. If the owner now removes the saddle from the track room, a signal is sent from the saddle to the gate, which is connected to the security system. A countdown of a few seconds is activated, at which's end the alarm system reacts. If however, within this predetermined timespan the corresponding users id-card is detected, the countdown stops and no alarm activates. With this chosen solution the user is therefore able to remove his saddle without a login process. If however no or only the wrong id-card is present, after the countdown the alarm will activate.
