What is the project for?
The image on the left visualises how the project Polymer-Controlling will be set up. The developed device captures images via a camera, a needed lighting and a software, which calculates the granularity of the sludge on the conveyor belt.
The softwares results are sent to a PLC (programmable logic controller) in form of digital values. The PLC can now process these values in order to adjust the granularity of the sludge.
Besides this main task it is also necessary to capture the polution of the conveyor belt via image processing. If the belt is polluted also the pollution degree in percent has to be displayed. In order to make this possible, a communication with the PLC is necessary.
