This part deals with all needed hardware components like
analogue and/or digital interfaces for data transfer and
communication, the recording system including the
lighting and the needed package. Also, divers field
studies and measurements must be executed and
evaluated.

Image based granularity measurement
A robust image-processing-algorithm must be implemented
to measure the granularity of sludge and to detect the
pollution degree of the conveyor belt. For developing
the algorithm, the software package MATLAB shall be
used. The correct functionality of the algorithms must
be evaluated extensively.
