Coagulant controlling
VITAE DICTA SUNT EXPLICABO NEMO ENIM IPSAM

Situation

To guarantee the ideal processing of sludge, a low amount of water and therefore a high amount of dry substance is aspired. Due to the dehydration, it is necessary to add an expensive coagulant to the sludge. The added amount of coagulant is based on subjective estimation and depending on the composition of the sludge.

The aim of the thesis is the development of a contact-free measurement-process to improve the coagulant-addition. The device shall measure the degree of granularity and provide it as analogue/digital signal. This signal can be used for controlling the coagulant-addition by a PLC. Furthermore, the pollution degree of the conveyor belt shall be provided as data.
