A Rotmat in General
A Rotmat is a storage elevator based on the principle of a Paternoster. This design allows tools and materials to be stored in a space saving and easily to approach way. It is driven by two asynchronous machines. The company Urbas has four of this rotomats in their storage area. They are more or less functional, but the control system is obsolete and the safety componments are partially bridged.
This graphic shows the basic concept of a paternoster elevator. The rotomats can be driven in an automatic way or manually. In the automatic mode the shelf can be selected via a numeric keypad. After that the rotomat drives the shelf into the output area on the shortest path. In the manual mode the motors can be driven directly.
