Winner of the innovation@school-Award 2013

Wolfsberg 06/06/2013 - That the Carinthian students have a lot of creativity, motivation and ingenuity, was proved once again this year through the project submissions for the carinthian student competition innovation@school. About 130 pupils submitted 49 project ideas in the school year 2012/13. Eleven of them were selected by an independent jury for the financial supported implementation phase and were implemented together with partners from the Carinthian economy in the past weeks and months. At today's closing event in the HTL Wolfsberg, the eleven project teams presented the results and successes of their project work. It became clear that all teams approached highly professional and very motivated to meet the requisitions of its customers and partners from the economy. Impressive results - from a hydro quad for agriculture, a laser pointer for Glocknerama at the Landesmuseum Kärnten to a Vieleckbohrer that allows to drill 3- to 8-square holes - thrilled some 400 present guests.

Winner of the Innovation@school-Award and prize money of € 1,000 is the project SmartPipe. The project team of the HTL Mössingerstraße developed an intelligent GRP pipe system together with the company Hobas Engineering. This system allows a easier and more cost-effective maintenance of the installed pipe systems. The sensor has been filed for a patent and will be standard equipment for future GRP pipe systems.
