Abstract
Sources of energy are going to be used up. The prices therefore are increasing regularly. And at the same time we can watch the enormous rising of power consumption. The households of private people and manufacturing companies as well are affected by this situation from the past up to the present age.
We know that not renewable energy resources like oil, natural gas, brown coal and uranium are running out any time soon. This should persuade us to handle our energy sources with care. But this is not enough to stop the unfavourable development.
Certainly the combination of many partial solutions will help us to effect an economy. We need an intelligent concept for controlling and regulating the power consumption. We have to ensure that energy is spent at that times we really need it.
Such a concept can only be reached when we know the quantity of power consumption at any time. Furthermore we need this data in a digital form. To solve this task smart meter have been developed. They are able to measure the consumption of many different energetic sources. The measured results can be taken for evaluation and controlling.
The aim of our project is to make a contribution to the responsible handling with our energy resources.
We have fetched and visualised the data of power usage from the education centre “HTL Mössingerstraße”. Now we are able to trace the data when they are going out of the tolerable range and we perhaps have a loss of energy. This includes the recording of spent electrical, heating and water energy.
Within we made it possible to reduce the consumption and costs in the future.
